Eagle for Christ

Christ is in Control

As we journey through this life we often forget Who actually knows where we are going. There is an old saying that goes “If you don’t know where you are going you might not like where you end up.” As for knowing where we are going, we first need to know where we want to go, and then how to get there. there are two ways of finding where you want to go. 1. you have been there once before and so you already know how to get there. or 2. you get direction form someone who has walked the path ahead of you and has been where you want to go.

In the eternal sense, we all know where we want to go, heaven. but i guarantee that none of us have been there before. So our only hope of getting there is to follow someone who has gone before us. As I’m sure most of you know, Jesus Christ is the only One Who can lead us.

Now Christ isn’t like some random city tour guide where you just jump on and off the tour bus whenever you like without any structure or rules for the journey. Rather He is like a Guide through the Amazon rain forest, leading through perilous obstructions and around savage beasts. We are expected to Follow His leading and instructions in order to complete the journey alive.

In the same way Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, Guides us trough life and has many lessons  for us to learn. and it is only when we are in tune with His leading that we are able to receive His Greatest Blessing. now that isn’t to say that if you do everything that Christ has instructed life will be easy and prosperous; on the contrary Christ Himself promised that if we follow Him whole heartily, we will be persecuted, rejected, and ridiculed. But even though all the hardship He Promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us even unto the end of the age. and that He works all things together for our good.

As followers of Christ we often Forget that He, not us, is the one that is leading the way, and that we are to trust His leading, even when we have no clue what He is doing or where He is taking us. it is our job to Trust His leadership and His intentions, and to humble ourselves and let Him take His rightful place as King of our life.

Now don’t take this as some high handed holier than thou sermon. for one thing i’m not a preacher. and for another, I am writing this because it is a message that I need reminding of every day. i’m going through a season where I want to Trust God with the direction of my life. and I want to do what He has planed for me. but at the same time i have some life decisions, as to vocation and life goals, that will shape my life for the next 10-20 years of my life. and quite frankly i have now idea where He wants me, what He wants me to do, and i’m scared to death of choosing something and missing What God has for me. so this is to try and get through my own thick skull that God is in control of my life, that because I am seeking to do His Will and follow His prompting He will guide my steps and keep me in His plan for my life.

so i Hope somebody gains some insight form my personal pep talk. if you have any thoughts or insights feel free to comment.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” Prov. 3:5-6
